Window Modes
- WIM Window - Normal Window Mode
Below is a screenshot of WIM running in Normal Window Mode where each conversation has its own individual window.
- WIM Options/Windows
Below is a screenshot of WIM operating under tabbed windows. This view is similar to many modern intstant messengers out today (ex. AIM, Yahoo, MSN).
WIM Options
Accessed by using slash command: /wim
- WIM Options/General
From the General tab within WIM's options (/wim), you are presented with many options that determine how WIM will behave. Options range from focus settings to window pop-ups.
The best way to learn what each option does, is to try them out for your self.

Below is a screenshot of the Windows tab withing WIM's options (/wim). From here you can set the properties of the windows as well as select which window mode you would like to use.

From the Filters tab within WIM's options (/wim), you can utilize the array of options for filtering your incoming and outgoing whispers.
Aliasing
With aliasing, you can replace a user's character name with their real name. This is useful when your friends have multiple alts.
Filters
WIM comes with pre-loaded filter definitions in order to avoid conflicts with many of the popular addons used today. You can customize your own filters by using the inferface shown below.
- WIM Options/History
Below is a screenshot of the History tab within WIM's options (/wim). You can select which class of users you want recorded (Friends, Guild, Everyone) as well as control how much memory is used to save your conversations and how often WIM should prune out old messages.
WIM History Viewer
- History Viewer
Below is a screenshot of the WIM History Viewer. From here you can view all of your past recorded chat conversations.
The latest version has three viewing mods:
- Normal View - (Default) Save view as the default chat frame and WIM windows.
- Raw Text - Displays the chat in raw text where you can copy specific messages to your clipboard.
- HTML - You can copy an HTML export of the selected conversation.
