Now I'm sure that someone has requested that Guild chat be added to WIM. I think that it would be a fantastic idea. Now WIM is by far my fave addon.


And maybe is there a way to automatically add the gold spammers to your ignore list instead of just blocking the messages?

Gold Spammers:

Unfortunately Blizzard has an ignore list limit and you wouldn't want to fill that list up with level 1 gold spammers that delete their characters after their spam.

You can choose to grab add-ons such as IgnoreMore which allow you to ignore more people, but the same deal. You wouldn't want that list to be full of people that will delete their characters after their gold spam. Kind of pointless in a way.

Blizzard has introduced a 'Report Spam' function which will make that person you report be ignore by you for that session, since they'll delete their character etc. I believe WIM has a 'report spam' option after the spam is blocked a couple of times.


I just use the levelblocker from WIM. Set it to level 1, and tick the option that allows confirmations. What it does is blocks all level 1 messages, send them out a confirmation code (random each time), if the level 1 sends it back, then they can talk with us (all that is done behind the scene and we don't see it happening).

Gold Spammers generally send out a ton of messages and don't bother replying with random codes send out for confirmation. If they start bothering, I'd just turn the confirmation request off and block all level 1ers.

Absolutely agree. And yep it's been requested. As well as Party Chats and so on. Pazza mentioned he may look into this as a plug-in to WIM at a later stage of development. I too want an addon like that.

Yeah no chat functionality other than whispers for WIM yet. And Maziel nailed it on the head with the ignore list request.

As far as beta testing goes, once I start working on the next version I may post an application on the website and select a few "qualified" volunteers to help me test WIM prior to releasing. When I say qualified, I would like people with LUA experience so they can not only tell me there is a bug, but to help locate the bug as well within the code. I will post more information on the website when the time comes. But thank you for your interest.

Well then I guess you can count me out of the beta testing because of the fact that I know little, if anything, about LUA

Well this isn't communist china either. lol. Its a preference. Exceptions can be made. My whole thing is, I do not want the betas being leaked so I want to keep it within a trusted group of individuals as well as long time WIM users who know the addon very well. Again, wait till i post more on how to apply to be a tester.

I've seen, that a guild Chat plugin is available already. Would it be possible to extend this addon to use custom channels? I'm overall not familiar with programming issues, so I can't do this. Anything planned yet?
