Hello,

Today, I logged onto an alt and tried to whisper some people from my main's guild. I could whisper them but I didn't get anything back. Someone on my friends list whispered me and I got it, but any messages from people not on my friends list or guild were not coming through.

I logged on to my main, and was able to send and receive whispers to people from my guild.

I logged back onto my alt, disabled filtering and I still can't get whispers from people not on my friends list and not in my guild. I had to add people to my friends list to get whispers from them.

Err... huh? WAI or FUBAR?

I would say check what addons you have enabled on your alt compared to your main.  Sounds like a conflict

Same addons on both toons. No Spambot or anything like that.

Umm... alrighty then.  Time to reset your saved variables for your addons and check....  Only other thing I could guess.  Maybe there's a setting that enables a feature in another addon that's causing it.

If it works for one toon and doesn't for another, 99.9% of the time it's a conflict with something.


So just go ahead and reset your settings for all of your addons for that toon and reconfigure them.

It doesn't work on any of my toons.

Then time to start from scratch.

Almost 99% of the time THIS part is due to an addon not being updated.  So i would go ahead and update all of your addons and make sure they are the most recent release. If that doesn't work then it's time to find the culprit.

Disable all of your addon except for WIM and test it out.  Turn your addons on one by one and see which one is causing the conflict.

Have fun and get back to us with your results on which addon is causing the issue.

I figured it out. I think it was AutoNo (aka MeanMage).
I actually paid attention to my error popups. >.<
