There is a known issue with nUI and WIM. An error occurs when a user tries to minimize/close a message window when animations are enabled.

Unfortunately, this issue is out of my control and can not be resolved on my end. To have the two addons behave correctly, disable WIM's animation effects by going to WIM's options (/wim), Display Settings, and disabling window animations.

The problem I and some others are having, is that WIM is changing some features of the the General chat box back to the "default" Blizzard and un-hooking it from its nUI hook. (it appears to be unlocking the chat window, and allowing the chat window to return to its Blizzard default position).  Its also changing the scroll buttons back to default and moving them back to the left side.

I tried your instructions above, just in case, and it had no effect on this issue.  I have verified this to be a problem with the lastest nUI Dev build and current WIM version, and tested to repro by having only those two addons installed (fresh clean Addon and WTF directories).

Any suggestions?

I really can't see how that is possible since there isn't one peice of code in WIM that touches that window frame. let alone changes the appearance of it.

It has to be something going on in nUI

Ok, thanks, that's what I needed to know.  I saw a couple of posts about it the the comments on your Curse profile for WIM.  I'll dig through nUI's bug reports, and if I don't see any reports of it there, I will let Scott know its a problem and refer him back to this post.

As you can see from this post being a sticky... nUI has always been an issue with WIM.

Hm, I totally missed the 2009 date on the original post, sorry about that.  I just came back to WoW after being away for a couple of years, and have been wasting a lot of my time trying to sort out my old addons list out, and replace all the broken and outdated stuff.  The changes in this 4.x patch didn't help that task, either.  Thanks for the time and answers!
