04/02/2009 - WIM 3.0.10 Released

First off let me start by saying I LOVE WIM. It is one of the more useful WoW addons that I have found. I recommend it to all of my friends (I hope they send in donations), and I praise and commend your efforts. Thank you so much for all the time and effort you have put into creating this addon. I know what this project has cost you in time, aggravation, etc. The debug process for WoW addons is so annoying in the first place I'm surprised you're not dead from impatience and boredom.

It's nobody's fault but your own that your lack of understanding caused you to believe that your computer was infected by a virus. You can't get a virus from a wow addon, specifically. The only way this would be possible is that if you were a moron and launched an exe, bat, com, or other sort of executable file when you unpacked it. Furthermore, a virus generally wouldn't detect when a certain process was launching a certain function that was calling an event (like the loading screen) and playing a certain sound file when that event fired. If you were considering rebuilding your entire PC from scratch because of a sound file playing in ONE video game on a loading screen, then you need to re-examine your troubleshooting tactics and stay the hell away from my computer.

The "bottom line" is that YOU ruined your evening by going OCD over a sound file playing on a loading screen. That's nobody's fault but your own. If you are concerned about the very limited ways in which addon developers can influence your WoW experience then you should not use addons in general. Otherwise, accept the possibility that you might not get what you want, learn how to troubleshoot, and pick and choose your addons and their updates with more discretion.
