width issue

Love this mod, wonderful idea, but i'm having an issue w/ the width of it.
I have it adjusted how i want it by scale, width, & height of course, but every now and then when I close the window and someone else IMs me, I click on the minimap button to bring up the new window, and it's as wide as my screen, which is not how i have it set. if i go to options and just click on the width slider, w/o actually even sliding it, it will adjust it. This may be a bug, but i can't duplicate it w/ any sort of predictability, because it doesn't happen every time I get a new window open.  Has anyone else seen this, and am I doing something wrong?

But yea, i can back this up and I think i remember knowing what happened. So i'll try to reproduce it and present it to pazza next time we're on.  Maybe we'll take another trip back under stormwind and not fall to our deaths and end up rezzing in fuckig westfall .  ANYWAY

Thanks, I thought maybe it was "user error" so i wasn't sure it should go in the bug forum.
I had tried to mess w/ it a bit, and it seems random....sometimes when it happens, i'll just open options & go to where you scale it, & just going there fixes it. Sometimes I gotta click on the wide thing & that fixes it. Sometimes if I click on the wide scale thing, close the options, bring it back up again, & do it again, THAT fixes it. & sometimes, no matter what i do, it stays as long as my screen. gotta give it props for being versitile, i guess.

Haha. This is indeed an annoyance... Nacho is going to help me by stepping out exactly how to reproduce the problem.

If you could do the same that would be extremely helpful.

Tell me some info on your settings.
Scale, are your windows tabbed? etc. Anything that would be helpful for me to be able to reproduce the problem. At least then I will know where to begin in fixing this.

Any chance this is related to the minimize animation glitch that's already been reported?

To add to what's already been said about the minimize bug.
(The "opposite" animation of what's mentioned here: window -> minimap Vs minimap -> window)

I have seen the weird minimize that makes the window "elongate" instead of minimizing equilaterally,
go "vertical" elongation if the window starts at the bottom of the screen.

Ok, settings.  Please bear w/ me, I'm not great at knowing what to say about this stuff, I usually just fiddle w/ sliders till it looks right.

tall, if that matters.  The screen itself of wow doesn't change at all, what will happen is I will get a brand new IM, which means the settings of the width/height should apply to it, but it literally the length of my whole window of wow, but not any taller, that stays the same.  As I said before, there seems to be a numerous amount of ways to fix it, SOMETIMES, sometimes no matter what I do, it won't go away, I have to literally wait until I'm done w/ that conversation, & even trying to completely close & then reopen the window to that specific person, it will still be way long.  I'm wondering if maybe some of those people have a conflicting wow IM program or something, but like I said, I know nothing about this stuff so that may just be dumb.  What other settings do you need to know about to help?  I"m just not sure what settings you need to know and what settings don't matter in the least.

Just had another width problem, but the opposite happened this time.  The window was as small as it absolutely could be, & when I tried to make it wider w/ the slider, nothing happened, & when I tried w/ the scale, it just made it way taller but didn't change the width.  Tried over & over several times, didn't work, then I had 2 more people IM me, & w/ those tabs, it started to widen, so when I finally was able to close the extra tabs & come back down to 1, the window just stayed the right width, not too wide or too short.  I then closed that one & opened another im to someone else, just to see what it'd look like, and once again it was too short, tallwise was fine but way too narrow. current settings that I think may help:

width:432, height: 209, scale: 74.  strata is on DIALOG, & all check boxes in the window settings are checked currently, all those have been the same since I started using it, except maybe the width since i've tried messin w/ it so many times, & sometimes it works perfectly, sometimes it doesn't.

yep same here I had updated my add ons yesterday and WIM suffered. The width and height randomly resizing, OR it takes over the entire screen. I think it has to do with the new animation features you guys have in there. When it animates to close or open, it enlarges or turns rail thin and sometimes stalls out taking over my screen during raid. (Even when no other add on is running the problems persist). Also, would there be an option I have missed somewhere that allows me to have it open even when I start fighting mobs? Oh, there is no longer an option to change the text color for me. Or least one I can no longer find. Any way ya can Please bring that back? This is an add on I have used for a very long time (over a year now I think) and I truly value it.

Ok, I didn't get a lot of psts yesterday, so I didn't get a LOT of testing in, but I did do a couple things.

I removed all my mods, & kept just wim on, for quite awhile, it did not mess up a single time, which makes me think it may very well be a mod, since it was happening every 4 or 5 psts before that.  I then added on auctioneer, but wim still behaved normally.  I'll try takin off auctioneer & addin something else tonight & see what happens.

also, the same thing was happening to me as that guy mentions, sometimes.  sometimes when I switch tabs it doesn't matter, but often it fixes the problem. if I dont' have another tab & i start a new one, that usually doesn't fix it, but if someone psts ME, & i switch to that, then sometimes it does.
