Not recieving messages

Heya!

Lately, I've been having an issue with WIM: I do not RECIEVE whisperings, until i whisper someone else. It haven't been working correctly for quite a while, but now I'm starting to get tired of it, as there sometimes pops like 10 whisperings up whenever i whisper someone else. And when I whisper them back, then I sometimes get to know that they whispered me hours ago.

To me, it seems like an interference with some other addon, but I don't know which one, as this problem doesn't occur constantly, but only in certain periods, so it is very hard to me to figure out which addon is making interference with WIM. Still, here's a list of my addons:

Furthermore, the problem have still occured while the following addons have been disabled:

PallyPower
QuestHelper

My version of WIM is 3.0.6 by the way. And I am using Wowmatrix to update my addons regulary

Try disabling SpamMeNot for a while. see if you still have the problem.

Because of some interference with SpamMeNot, or? Because right now, it is only set up to block level 1 users, even then i still get a message that someone is trying to message me, but that the message is blocked

We're not saying that spammenot isn't working for you.  Just saying that there could be a conflict with that addon and receiving whispers, since that is the basic functionality of that addon ya know?


I've never had this problem, ever with any version of wim and I don't use any spam blocker other than the one that is packaged with wim, so this sometimes raises a flag.

It is in fact an issue with SpamMeNot (or whatever library it may use). Back when I was testing this bug myself a friend and I discovered that the bug happened with both WIM and SpamMeNot even if either one of them was the only addon enabled. Either you disable the level filtering of SpamMeNot or you disable it completely.

Also note that until further notice SpamMeNot is no longer under development as the author has stopped working on it. When Pazza has worked out the compatibility with SpamSentry you might want to try that instead perhaps.

You do know that WIM has a built in spam level blocker right?

And there was a bug a while back with the level blocker which has now been fixed and working correctly (i've tested this quite a few times myself).

So yea, there ya go.
