[DevTeam] [Zeke]: I love that I get emailed when someone reports spam on the boards, but I can't do anything about it.
[DevTeam] [Nachonut]: lol i got you
[DevTeam] [Astaldo]: How about "hide email address from public checked" and it's still visible in all my posts...
[DevTeam] [Astaldo]: I'd delete my account on this site, but by the time I realized the problem half the spambots on the planet had it already
[Developer] [Pazza]: Astaldo if you log out and view your profile with a refresh you'll see that your email is hidden.
[Developer] [Pazza]: Your user level on the forums permit you to see emails even though they are marked hidden.
[DevTeam] [Astaldo]: Ah.. thanks for the clarification and apologies for "crying wolf" in that case :
[DevTeam] [Kaidenn]: PAZZA! i miss you.
[DevTeam] [Nachonut]: Lol, it's funny how it takes spam message reports to get me to come back
[DevTeam] [sylvanaar]: Check out the beta tester forum. Need alpha testers and feedback so I can come up with a maintenance plan.
[Developer] [Pazza]: loaded some new spam prevention modules... lets see if this stops the bastards.
[DevTeam] [Maziel]: Thought I'd check in and say Howdy Doody from Australia
[DevTeam] [Maziel]: Yeah the spam from shoes salesmen was becoming insane
[Guest] [Delakando]: What ever happened to the ability to track friend's location by wim? Other then just showing their general zone location.
Zeke pokes his head around the corner.
[DevTeam] [Zeke]: Anybody home?
[Guest] [Theillur]: I would like to know if it is just me.
[Guest] [Theillur]: http://www.wimaddon.com/forums/index.php/topic,1796.0.html
[Guest] [Nev]: I'm here
[Guest] [Nev]: I don't think anyone else is though
[Guest] [tomasio]: great site [url=http://freeonlinemusicvideos.net].[/url] [url=http://freepeopleclothing.org].[/url]
[Guest] [Theillur]: Nev it is not working for Zeke as well.

[DevTeam] [lothaer]: Zeke, Maziel, Pazza, Nachonut, sylvanaar, Kaidenn, Astaldo where are you?
[DevTeam] [lothaer]: It would be a real shame if WIM was left to die.
[DevTeam] [lothaer]: i think these forums are dead, Sylvanaar dosnt post on them as he only bug fixes when possible. WIMs future isnt very bright
[Guest] [justgiz]: Yea, its rather sad.
[Guest] [silvercola]: I wish it had skype

When I try to whisper myself anything.
Testing on WotLK beta (build 9061) - my live realm is down...

Only other addons loaded are BugGrabber/BugShack and Fortress (LDB display for BugSack).
WiM seems to create "invisible" windows, another one for each /w I try to do
(even to the same recipient: me)
Only the buttons on the shortcut bar and the history button is visible, rest of the window not,
but it does capture mouse clicks.. so it's "there".

Edit: Forgot to say.
I completely removed the previous version of WIM while exited from the game,
and extracted the new one (3.0.2b).
After I saw the problems I again completely exited the game and nuke the saved variables.
Problem persisted on next logon as well.

Edit2: Reverting to r100 I get no errors.

Let me just confirm cause you are a beta tester... You did rename WIM_Rewrite to WIM right?

I am talking about this package:
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/wim-3/download/298558.aspx

It doesn't need renaming (not using an old WIM_Rewrite version pulled from the svn that is).

If you look at the recent comments on the Curse page (not Curseforge),
you'll find several "bug reports" that look like being the same issue
(only without the debug stack)

I tried the latest (at time of posting) r105.

I'm still encountering the same problem.
I went ahead and disabled all addons (including BugGrabber/BugSack/Fortress).
To rule out a library problem as there is some overlapping of Ace libraries between those.

This is the package I tried:
http://wow.curseforge.com/projects/wim-3/files/26-r105/

This is the result when I try to whisper myself.
The moment WIM intercepts "/w Toric <spacebar>" the first ghost window appears
along with the error I posted above.
When I press enter to send the tell, 2 more ghost windows appear that overlap each other.
Dragging them apart from their "invisible" areas produces this result shown in the attachement.

I don't know how I can assist with debugging.
I will try downgrading revision by revision to find the most recent one that doesn't error.

At the moment my fallback "stable" version is WIM-r100 (with an updated WhoLib).

WIM is also the 2nd addon that strongly correlates with error 132 hard client crashes
after revision 100.
First one being Barrel (a minimap display LDB launcher).
I've had error 132 crash on logon (as the world starts to draw) with only WIM r100+ or only Barrel enabled,
never in these 3 days with WIM <= 100 or any other combination of addons.

This has been pointed out on a number of occasions that is a problem on Blizzard's end.
Addons shouldn't be able to cause c++ errors on the client under any circumstances.
On the other hand it is some addons that seem to exacerbate the problem for a few users.
I hope I don't join that category Sad

Discussion seemed to indicate that a likely cause is extreme nesting of frames.
Is there a possibility that some recursion in a frame factory is not working as intended in latest versions?

Ok, I have a new piece of info...
This doesn't happen on 3.0.2 b9056 (the live 3.0.2 wow)  Shocked

Which explains why only some users are reporting it and not the bulk of them.

It does happen with any revision over r100 on 3.0.2 b9061 (the WotLK beta build).

I don't know if that means it's a problem waiting to happen, or something you can safely ignore Smiley

To make it perfectly clear, all the above information relates to the WotLK beta client.

Try changing line 564 from

Code:
if(not widgets[widget]:GetScript(handler)) then

to

Code:
if(widgets[widget].GetScript and not widgets[widget]:GetScript(handler)) then

I don't see why that would give you an error. the file you are downloading also questions me because it should be:
http://static.curseforge.net/uploads/18/299/10/WIM-r105.zip

I'm really not sure what that garbage that the packager made is...

Anyway, It seems like the textures from blizzard are loading (history, shortcuts) but not the other. Does /wim show correctly?

As far as being too many nested frames, that isn't the case. The windows don't nest any deeper than may 4 layers. The options on the other hand can nest very deep.

The only crash report I heard was from minimizing. i fixed it when it used to crash traveling to the minimap icon. maybe there is a same situation for when the minimap is disabled.

The file you linked is the file I'm getting indeed.
Sorry for the confusion, I linked to the changelog instead but I was using the file you linked.

I will try that edit on the beta and edit this post in a few mins.

Edit:
No luck, same error.

A question:
The flashing class icon on the top left of the window,
is that a new revision 100+ thing?

I'm sorry to be a pest but that's not the case.
I'm 100% certain I got the right file.
WIM-r105.zip: 606,176 bytes
I can post a hash if that will help convince you.

Furthermore after I extracted it to my WotLK beta AddOns folder,
I copied the same folder to my live installation AddOns folder.

The addon is identical on both installations.
It works without a problem on live, it bombs on the beta.

In case my edit above goes unnoticed:
The change you asked me to do didn't change anything on the WotLK beta.
(which I guess is comforting as you didn't expect it to)

Is the flashing class icon at the top-left of the wim window a recent addition?
(as in revision 100+)

I forget what the revision number was. It might have been late 90's. basically it was there for the first time upon release.

So no problem on live. problem on beta. I need to reinstall my beta. It keeps erroring everytime i patch.

I believe you about the downloads. I am just trying to trouble shoot.

Can I get a confirmation that this has been fixed in the current release? 3.0.3 beta?
