[DevTeam] [Zeke]: I love that I get emailed when someone reports spam on the boards, but I can't do anything about it.
[DevTeam] [Nachonut]: lol i got you
[DevTeam] [Astaldo]: How about "hide email address from public checked" and it's still visible in all my posts...
[DevTeam] [Astaldo]: I'd delete my account on this site, but by the time I realized the problem half the spambots on the planet had it already
[Developer] [Pazza]: Astaldo if you log out and view your profile with a refresh you'll see that your email is hidden.
[Developer] [Pazza]: Your user level on the forums permit you to see emails even though they are marked hidden.
[DevTeam] [Astaldo]: Ah.. thanks for the clarification and apologies for "crying wolf" in that case :
[DevTeam] [Kaidenn]: PAZZA! i miss you.
[DevTeam] [Nachonut]: Lol, it's funny how it takes spam message reports to get me to come back
[DevTeam] [sylvanaar]: Check out the beta tester forum. Need alpha testers and feedback so I can come up with a maintenance plan.
[Developer] [Pazza]: loaded some new spam prevention modules... lets see if this stops the bastards.
[DevTeam] [Maziel]: Thought I'd check in and say Howdy Doody from Australia
[DevTeam] [Maziel]: Yeah the spam from shoes salesmen was becoming insane
[Guest] [Delakando]: What ever happened to the ability to track friend's location by wim? Other then just showing their general zone location.
Zeke pokes his head around the corner.

I had the impression this was fixed - actually, I know it was as I had a version that worked. However, with the latest version I am again experiencing the problem that when I shift-click to link an item the menu that lets me split an item in stacks shows up. I tried it with a clean install and the problem was still there, and it disappears when I disable WIM. It seems that nobody else is having the same problem anymore, so perhaps I need to update some other addon to get WIM to work? Keep up the good work.

I am also having this problem, and I just downloaded the most recent WIM right now, after going without this mod for a few weeks after it started doing this item link/stack size bug.

If I open the WoW standard chat window, and shift-click an item to have the link placed in chat, it places the link in the chat window, but then also gives me the window for separating stacks into smaller stacks at the same time, which then requires that I hit enter to send the link into whatever chat destination I had selected (tell, party, say, general, trade etc...), and then hit escape so that the stack size dialogue goes away.  Quite a nuisance, but otherwise a fantastic mod.  It didn't happen immediatley after I got the mod, for at least a few days, but then it just started acting up, not sure what caused it...

I have NO other mods enabled at the moment, and it is still doing it. I've even tried clearing out my WTF folder etc...

Great mod, and grats on the new wiki site!

oh ok! I was fiddling around with the problem.  I seemed to figure it out somewhat, here's what I'm doing:

-Hit enter, to bring up the WoW default text bar where I enter chat/emotes,
-type /w Darmon, which then closes the default WoW chat bar, and brings up the WIM window for messages to Darmon,
-Shift-clicking an item at this point, to be sent in a tell to myself, does NOT give me the option of separating stacks,
-If after I have typed /w Name, I click OUT of the WIM window, and then back into the WIM window, I can still link an item into the WIM window without having the stack size dialogue,
-If I get a tell from Name, and I hit 'R' to reply, if I shift-click the item into a tell that has started as a REPLY (instead of manually typing /w Name), it puts the link into the text field, but then it DOES do the stack size dialogue,
-If I type /say to queue the default WoW UI chat field as a /say, it ALWAYS puts the item into the text field AND gives stack size window,
-If I type into General world chat, by typing /# to queue the default WoW UI chat field as General chat, and link an item, it links the item into chat AND gives the stack size window,
-If I type into Guild chat using either /g or /guild to set the default WoW UI chat field as guild chat, and link an item, it links the item into chat AND gives the stack size window,
-If I emote an action, using either /me or /emote feeds his pet the, and then link an item, it links the item into the emote, AND gives stack size window,

If at any point I click into the WIM chat field (NOT!!! the WoW standard UI chat field,) and type any of those precursors to chat that set the location of your message, such as I click the WIM text field where I enter my message, and type "/g" and then link the item into WIM directly, it does NOT give the Stack Size window, and when I hit enter, even though I did not get an indicator that my message destination was in fact guild chat as you would with the normal WoW UI (the standard WoW UI text field changes the 'text before the colon' to indicate where your message is going after you type /g, /r, /o, /# etc...), WIM forwards the message to the appropriate channel no problem, and I don't get the stack size window popping up.

So I guess now that I figured it out, I'll get used to opening the WIM window, clicking the text field, and typing in my destination channel, and then linking the item, everytime I want to link something, just in time for you to fix it Wink

Just to clarify, incase any of that was confusing (I'm sure it all was lol),

when you shift-click an item while your cursor is putting text into the WIM window, you DO NOT get the stack-size window (bood thing)
when you shift-click an item while your cursor is putting text into the default WoW UI, you DO get the stack-size window (bad thing)

So where you have the mod set up for WIM to take command of chat functions once you input a certain command, for example I type /w Name, it immediately closes the WoW default UI text bar, and brings up a WIM window for chat with Name, links that go into the WIM window DO NOT also give you the dialogue for splitting stacks (good thing.)

And alternatively, if you link something while your cursor is in the default WoW UI text field, such as when WIM does not take control, close the default text field, and bring up a WIM window, as in the case of guild, officer, party, raid, general/trade (#'d channels), your shift-click simultaneously separates the stack, and links the item into chat (bad thing.)

So this requires that when you want to link something to a person, or into guild chat, or general/trade chat, that you manually open the WIM window, click the text field, and enter your destination (/g, /o, /# etc...). This also means you can not use /r to send a chat link to someone who you may be having a conversation with.  You would be able to chat with them normally but then when ever the conversation warranted an item link, you would have to type /Name then link it.

Is there any way that you can make WIM take control of all those other chat channels, in that when you hit the button that brings up the WoW default UI text field, (if I want to reply I just hit 'r,' for example,) it closes the WoW default UI field and puts my cursor into the WIM window?  I have taken to typing "/w asdf /x" every time I want to link an item, where X is the destination channel, because it's faster than manually going up to the minimap and clicking the WIM icon.

Thank you for your time in researching this. I will definately review the code and see what might be causing this .
