[DevTeam] [Zeke]: I love that I get emailed when someone reports spam on the boards, but I can't do anything about it.
[DevTeam] [Nachonut]: lol i got you
[DevTeam] [Astaldo]: How about "hide email address from public checked" and it's still visible in all my posts...
[DevTeam] [Astaldo]: I'd delete my account on this site, but by the time I realized the problem half the spambots on the planet had it already
[Developer] [Pazza]: Astaldo if you log out and view your profile with a refresh you'll see that your email is hidden.
[Developer] [Pazza]: Your user level on the forums permit you to see emails even though they are marked hidden.
[DevTeam] [Astaldo]: Ah.. thanks for the clarification and apologies for "crying wolf" in that case :
[DevTeam] [Kaidenn]: PAZZA! i miss you.
[DevTeam] [Nachonut]: Lol, it's funny how it takes spam message reports to get me to come back
[DevTeam] [sylvanaar]: Check out the beta tester forum. Need alpha testers and feedback so I can come up with a maintenance plan.
[Developer] [Pazza]: loaded some new spam prevention modules... lets see if this stops the bastards.
[DevTeam] [Maziel]: Thought I'd check in and say Howdy Doody from Australia
[DevTeam] [Maziel]: Yeah the spam from shoes salesmen was becoming insane
[Guest] [Delakando]: What ever happened to the ability to track friend's location by wim? Other then just showing their general zone location.
Zeke pokes his head around the corner.
[DevTeam] [Zeke]: Anybody home?

As tittle.
I'm aware this issue was present in the 1.x series and was fixed.

However I'm having goldseller ad whispers (lvl1) from my ignore list getting through (and opening the /who panel as well).

If this helps tracking down the issue this seems to only be happening when I'm in a dungeon + part of a raid.
I'm usually the raidleader or assistant (just mentioning in case the player context plays any part).

Repeating again.. I haven't noticed this problem when soloing, being in a party outside instances.
It only seems to happen in raids.

Thanks for your time.

I too have tested this issue, but only when not in a party. I will give it a try while in a party or raid to see if Im having an issue. The ignore list should be independent from WIM and handled by blizzard. WIM catches whisper events and shows the attached event data. These events should be caught before your interface can see it.

If worse comes to first, I will add a check before populating windows. Odd though.

Thanks.

Would add-ons like IgnoreMore that formulate their own ignorelists so you can ignore more than the default blizzard listing perhaps be the cause of blocked players getting through?

Only a thought, maybe add-ons to improve the ignorelist might not be getting recognised by WIM as ignored players?

I personally haven't had this issue yet, but I do use an addon called IgnoreMore, so thought I'd throw the question in for thought. Smiley

I will look into it. The standard ignore list is handled server side (blizzard) Some tricks to get off ignore are to delete your account and then recreate it. When you delete your account, your name iwll get deleted off other peoples friends lists as well as ignore lists. Thats one way....

These are all great ideas when I release some WIM plugins. I already started to toy with some ideas since I know i have at least 1 extra week to work on it prior to a patch.

I do use IgnoreMore addon and have just recently (with the .15 latest version of WIM) getting people i ignore continuing to talk to me.

For example, some lvl 30 nub will whisper me, then when i choose not to give him the information they start abusing. I click ignore. And they are able to continue to talk with me.

I think as soon as i Shift+Clicked the WIM message box to kill the message box then they stopped messaging. But that could just be concidence for they may have just stopped talking then.

it is a little frustrating when you click the 'ignore' button and the user is still able to message you. If not a WIM problem, perhaps it's IgnoreMore conflicting?

If blizzard didnt limit the ignore list to 25 players we wouldnt need things like IgnoreMore. >.<

I'll have to download the addon and try it out. Then see what can be done.

I added support for IgnoreMore. It was faily simple. Basically as long as IgnoreMore is enabled and is on its ignore list, WIM will ignore any INBOUND messages as well. Works the same way as the standard ignore list. Meaning you will see your inbound messages.
