Auto Response on special words

I hope someone is planning and developening this yet:

For e.g. you want to sell some things in the /2 Channel and you now can add some words in the Plugin on a list.
When now someone whispers you for e.g. How much? [Itemlink] or Itemname an auto response will send to him which you can define before like the price or so.

I think this would be a pretty idea

It sounds nice in concept, I just question how well it would work in action.  If consider the variety of formats people send tells in, and the variety of names some items are called, you would have to have a list of what you would accept to send an auto reply.  Then on top of that, compare all that with how often you would truly use it and how many items you would have to set it up for, and see if it's still worth it to even use something like this.

I'm not saying it's not a good idea, I'm just asking whether it would really even be worth it to use the system if it did exist.  If this were made, my best guess is that it would be an addon.

EDIT:  after saying that, the word that sums up everything I'm asking is 'practicality'.

I agree with Steve. But I am not bashing your idea. An auto responder is planned to be made in plugin format. However the way it would work is basically like a normal instant messenger. However, Instead of keyword based responses, you will be able to set status based responses. Examples would be, in combat, afk, dnd, raiding, etc.

A suggested tool which I would think would suit you would be a macro plugin. Where maybe right clicking the edit box in the WIM window, you would get a menu of predefined responses. to at least save you the hassel of typing everything out every time.

Would this suit your needs? if so, I would definitely add it to the list of plugins which I would either like see made or make myself.
