[DevTeam] [Nachonut]: lol i got you
[DevTeam] [Astaldo]: How about "hide email address from public checked" and it's still visible in all my posts...
[DevTeam] [Astaldo]: I'd delete my account on this site, but by the time I realized the problem half the spambots on the planet had it already
[Developer] [Pazza]: Astaldo if you log out and view your profile with a refresh you'll see that your email is hidden.
[Developer] [Pazza]: Your user level on the forums permit you to see emails even though they are marked hidden.
[DevTeam] [Astaldo]: Ah.. thanks for the clarification and apologies for "crying wolf" in that case :
[DevTeam] [Kaidenn]: PAZZA! i miss you.
[DevTeam] [Nachonut]: Lol, it's funny how it takes spam message reports to get me to come back
[DevTeam] [sylvanaar]: Check out the beta tester forum. Need alpha testers and feedback so I can come up with a maintenance plan.
[Developer] [Pazza]: loaded some new spam prevention modules... lets see if this stops the bastards.
[DevTeam] [Maziel]: Thought I'd check in and say Howdy Doody from Australia
[DevTeam] [Maziel]: Yeah the spam from shoes salesmen was becoming insane
[Guest] [Delakando]: What ever happened to the ability to track friend's location by wim? Other then just showing their general zone location.
Zeke pokes his head around the corner.

It doesn't work sometimes, and works others.  I'm sure it's Wim due to the fact that it's the only mod I downloaded in the last few days, and it was working fine before.

If you can, find the certain situation where it isn't working. I need to be able to replicate the issue in order to debug it. As of yet, I have not had this problem, and I find myself closing many conversations.

I've been trying to find the exact conditions where this happens and it appears completely random.  So I guess just keep it in mind for now, if I can figure out how to break it consistantly I'll report it.

I figured it out, you're intercepting chat functions, but the shift-click to insert name is not working, and is locking all shift and cntl click functions till the WIM window is closed.

To duplicate do this.  Open a WIM window, and have the cursor open for editing.  Then Shift-click someones name, it won't insert it into the box.  Then close the edit(but not the window), and try to shift-click for /who functions, or cntl-click for dressing room.  They're all blocked till you shift-click to close the WIM window.

EDIT:  Of course, then I can go and try to do it, and it won't work.  *sigh*

Im thinking you must have some sort of addon conflict. I will try what you suggested randomly while I am playing to see if it happens to me as well. The specific window does not hook any functions. The core of WIM hooks the function to catch insersion of text into the edit boxes. Then it resumes blizzards initial funciton. It is a clean hook.

Keep me posted.

I'll go ahead and give you a list of other Chat addons that I use, in case you can pick out any conflicts.

Confab
GemList
!StoptheSpam
ChatLink
GFW_Linkerator

Those are the only ones that would do automatic chat things.  I am using AdvTradeSkillWindow, but I don't think it's at fault.

I believe i know what Houma is referring to.

Pazza, if you bring up your general /say typing box (so you can just randomly dribble anything in public) and then hold down SHIFT and Left Click on any ones [name] that appears in the General Chat box, their actual name is displayed in your typing box.

Say for example you yourself said 'boo' in game, in general chat it would show [Pazza]: Boo

Now if I brought up my chat box and then shift+left clicked your name, it would then paste your name into my chat box.

If i did not have my chat box up ready to type in to it, it would just show me who that player is, level, and location etc.

When you have a WIM instant message open, and you have highlighted the WIM instant message chat box ready to type into it, then choose to shift + left click a players name from the general chat window, it will not post that players name into the WIM chat box area.

I believe that is what Houma is referring to, if not, then I've found another bug Tongue

```````````````````
Now on the opposite side of the fence here:
Shift + Left clicking a name in general chat WITHOUT the textbox open (not WIM, normal textbox), generally displays the Player information, level, location, guild etc.
With WIM open, it 'sometimes' will display this information, sometimes won't. It's very random and could be linked to the above issue and might also be what Houma is referring to.
Technically with your WIM open ready to whisper someone, it should not be showing the players location level guild info etc when you shift left click their name, instead, it should paste their name into your whisper box. Smiley
I'd say that is the bug from both sides of the fence. Smiley
Ok. I finally got to investigating this issue and I think I figured it out. Thanks to the both of you.
First I'll explain the shift-click with no edit box to get who information on the person, since there is nothing I can do about this. Shift-Clicking to get a persons information calls a who request from the blizzard server. Now like everything in this game, there is a cool down (best way for me to explain). There is a restricted time frame between allowed who requests. Therefore, the explaination of the "random"-ness of this problem is that if a WIM Window has just been opened (and therefore a who request made) if shift-clicking a user for info in a short period of time will be conflicting with this /who cooldown and therefore will now show the information. I hope that explains that.
As far as shift-clicking a name to insert a name into a WIM conversaion, I will move foward on that now and get it working. Thanks again.
