[Guest] [joshmiller83]: Can we get an Astrolabe fix please? Or has WIM stopped being developed?
[DevTeam] [Astaldo]: You can disable wim2wim for now or visit the forum thread where you originally posted the issue
[DevTeam] [Zeke]: Yay for spam!
[DevTeam] [Zeke]: ....
[DevTeam] [Zeke]: I love that I get emailed when someone reports spam on the boards, but I can't do anything about it.
[DevTeam] [Nachonut]: lol i got you
[DevTeam] [Astaldo]: How about "hide email address from public checked" and it's still visible in all my posts...
[DevTeam] [Astaldo]: I'd delete my account on this site, but by the time I realized the problem half the spambots on the planet had it already
[Developer] [Pazza]: Astaldo if you log out and view your profile with a refresh you'll see that your email is hidden.
[Developer] [Pazza]: Your user level on the forums permit you to see emails even though they are marked hidden.
[DevTeam] [Astaldo]: Ah.. thanks for the clarification and apologies for "crying wolf" in that case :
[DevTeam] [Kaidenn]: PAZZA! i miss you.
[DevTeam] [Nachonut]: Lol, it's funny how it takes spam message reports to get me to come back
[DevTeam] [sylvanaar]: Check out the beta tester forum. Need alpha testers and feedback so I can come up with a maintenance plan.
[Developer] [Pazza]: loaded some new spam prevention modules... lets see if this stops the bastards.
[DevTeam] [Maziel]: Thought I'd check in and say Howdy Doody from Australia
[DevTeam] [Maziel]: Yeah the spam from shoes salesmen was becoming insane
[Guest] [Delakando]: What ever happened to the ability to track friend's location by wim? Other then just showing their general zone location.
Zeke pokes his head around the corner.
[DevTeam] [Zeke]: Anybody home?
[Guest] [Theillur]: I would like to know if it is just me.
[Guest] [Theillur]: http://www.wimaddon.com/forums/index.php/topic,1796.0.html
[Guest] [Nev]: I'm here
[Guest] [Nev]: I don't think anyone else is though
[Guest] [tomasio]: great site [url=http://freeonlinemusicvideos.net].[/url] [url=http://freepeopleclothing.org].[/url]

[DevTeam] [lothaer]: Zeke, Maziel, Pazza, Nachonut, sylvanaar, Kaidenn, Astaldo where are you?
[DevTeam] [lothaer]: It would be a real shame if WIM was left to die.
[DevTeam] [lothaer]: i think these forums are dead, Sylvanaar dosnt post on them as he only bug fixes when possible. WIMs future isnt very bright
[Guest] [justgiz]: Yea, its rather sad.

I used PratPlugin-1.0 to integrate Prat's chat rendering functionality with WIM. Have a look - its not complete - just meant as a dialog opener

Why is this needed exactly? Is there a problem with WIM and Prat?

No problem. This just allows the WIM text to be processed by all the prat modules that the text on the normal chatframes are, so you get prat's formatting, coloring, hyperlink/playerlin/itemlink creation, and  pattern matching, with just some small code changes in WIM.

It does this by replacing the code you use to write to the wim chatframe with an API call which obtains the formatted chat line from Prat.

Basically, it saves you the trouble of providing all that text formatting yourself. Prat benefits by haveing authors such as yourself collaborating resulting in fewer compatibility issues between addons, and more useful features.

Have you had a chance to try it?

Oh ok... Prat is nice, but the thing is, I don't want to rewrite things to use the library. Specially since everyone who uses WIM does not use Prat. Prat would then have to be a dependency.

But thank you.

Its optional...and only functions if prat is there.

Sylvannaar....Would this allow the linking/formatting of Talented Links in WIM?? If so this would be a good way to tackle that issue Pazza.

Maytrix -- I looked into talented.. Here is the issue with it.

It doesn't link like normal item links. What it does actually is just dump text to the last channel used. Which works fine, unless its being directed to whispers. The authors best bet would be to add an option to dump to a whisper and providing the users name. Now I haven't looked more into WIM since this last update yet, but I promise I will return to Talented and try to see what else I can do.

Great to hear that is my last issue with WIM atm, everything else is rocking now, just dosent return Talented links to a clickable string like prat does. Only thing I am missing.

Again want to say I really admire your working towards making WIM a complete addon, I really enjoy its functions, you have done one hell of a job with it thus far.

A very nice talent editor with templetes that you can make and send to friends in game plus a bunch of other really nice features, basically everything blizz talent frame should be.

You can pick it up from wowace.com for the latest version.

Talented links work just fine when using Prat to render the chat text on WIM frames as in the example i gave.

Let me give you an updated version for your latest build.

Your forum doesnt allow file types of *.lua

If one does use this modification of the lua file, and then does not have Prat installed, will everything still function fine?

If everything does function fine without Prat installed but with the Prat mods to the .lua file, I can't see why the mod to the .lua file can't be used.

But if it won't function properly with the mods to the .lua file withou Prat addon installed, then I can understand why we shouldn't use the modded .lua file.

Can you tell me more about it? Though I'm not a total nooB, i'm not as young as I once was and some things I don't get straight away. Smiley

Thanks Sylvanaar. Smiley

The changes sylvanaar posted are working beautifully, but no without prat the talented linking does not work properly. But I do enjoy having enchants linking and talented linking working properly in WIM with the changes slyvanaar posted.

But on another note prat+wim = perfect chat package.

I always recommend prat to anyone looking for a nice feature rich chat tool, now with the added changes done by Paza to WIM "item linking" the two make for a very nice package.

Hopefully you guys can work something out so we as the users can benifit ;-)

Keep up the great work guys...

Im going to have to look into this more. This has been a busy week for me in RL -- Im closing on my condo in a couple weeks too. I did forget about you telling me about recipe links not working. I'll get it next time sorry.

And I will have to look even deeper into Talented. Im thinking of maybe hooking right into it. I'll see what the possibilities are without getting too carried away.

BTW -- that is some compilation you manage. Thats a full time job in itself!
