Suppressing messages during combat

I play a rogue as my main character, and I'm constantly using Tricks of the Trade, i also utilize trick or Treat addon which tells someone they had trix and at the end of the cycle it tell them how much damage out they did while trix was up, my problem is I'm always having to close 3 windows every 30 seconds because of this, I've looked and looked again to see if there is a way to suppress only the tricks of the trade back to my general chat window. from what i have read it seems like i can but i dont know how do it, if there is no way to do so, how can i suppress whispers during combat only so my screen isnt always filled with windows

you need to create a filter which tells wim to ignore the whisper... i don't know what the message says but if it said "You were trixed for (some damage)" just create a filter set to ignore incoming & outgoing messages that start with the pattern:

You were trixed

that should do the trick.
