Specific tell redirection

This is probably an odd question, but I have not been able to figure out how to get this working, or even re-code the addon to do this.

I want to leave tells and messages go to the general default chat window, and only have select individuals have tells go to private WIM windows. can this be done? and how do you setup the addon so lets say person1 sends you a tell and is in your list, a window opens for that chat, and it doesnt show in the default chat window, but person2 sends you a tell and they are not in your list, so it goes to the default chat window.

I hope I explained that well enough. is it possible?

It's possible using a crafted plugin for WIM which can create this behavior. Perhaps I will make one. It shouldn't be too difficult to implement with the tools I have provided in both WIM API and WIM Plugin API.

When I have a chance I will see what I can scrounge up.

Well as a follow up, I had a couple hours to spare today so I began working on a plugin for this specific feature.

What it does as of yet and per your options, only shows conversations in WIM's format if the user is a friend, guildie, raid/party member and/or in a custom list. This plugin is a good example of how to use the WIM_API_Filter hooking method. (A major reason why I am writing it).

It seems to be working fine in my own testing but of course my usage of it within a 30 min period of time can not encouter all situiation that may occur.

So far, the known issues that exist are:
- interferes with whisper intercepting. I will have to include special hooks (there isn't any API for this in WIM since, it really wouldn't be needed, except in this situation).
- initiating conversations, again for the same reasons above.

I will see what I can do about them tomorrow if I get a chance and I will post it up on the site.

The addon will be called "WIM - WhisperSelect".

Hope that meets your needs. Again, I encourage the community members and other developers to make plugins for WIM, I do not plan on making complex plugins since the core of WIM is my main goal. However simple additions such as this which may not appeal to everyone seem feesable.

I will add a page for the plugin under the plugin section of the site as well post a news release when it is released.
